High Level Status:  Open For Business

TAPCO is currently open and is committed to remaining open for as long as it is safe for our employees and community.  This is an evolving situation which we will continue to monitor and review, daily.

We have provided training and documentation for the use of VPN, softphones and web/audio/video conferencing to help people work, remotely.  As much as possible, we’re encouraging people to work from home, to mitigate the risk of a wide spread outbreak across the TAPCO community.  We will continue monitor this developing situation and update this site with any changes to the current status.

Additional Detail:
As of March 18, 2020, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) has confirmed community spread of COVID-19 in Wisconsin.  DHS continues to recommend that businesses remain open but observe precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among employees.  DHS specifically recommends that employers take steps to protect employees and members of employees’ households who are at higher risk for adverse health complications from COVID-19.

As previously communicated, this includes persons over age 60 and persons under age 60 who have chronic health conditions (i.e., heart conditions, lung conditions, or diabetes) or who have compromised immune systems (i.e., organ transplant recipients, cancer patients receiving chemotherapy, etc.).

During a community outbreak of COVID-19, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends that persons in the high-risk category stay home as much as possible to reduce the risk of being exposed.  TAPCO recommends that employees in the high-risk category follow the CDC recommendations and stay at home if possible.  Any employees choosing to remain home based on this recommendation should follow the normal call in procedures to report their absence.  Employees who call in will be expected to tell their supervisor that the absence is COVID-19-related and whether they are showing current symptoms.  No further information will be required or demanded.
