Accurate counts, installed in a morning.
OpenSpace counting systems track every vehicle in and out of your lots with magnetometer, lidar or AI camera sensors, with no lot closures and none of the cost of a sensor in every space.
Choose how you count
Wireless magnetic sensors at the entrances and exits, embedded in the pavement, a rubber pod or a recycled-rubber speed hump. No digging at each space, operational within hours, and available as single-space sensors where you need them. AC, solar or battery power; rated from -40° to 185°F.
Full specifications →A laser counter that mounts on a pole or wall in under a day, with no cutting into concrete, asphalt or gravel. It reads direction, so it catches vehicles backing up, tailgating or going the wrong way, and it tells a car from a pedestrian, bike or cart. Counts one direction or both, with cellular connectivity built in.
Product sheet (PDF) →An IP camera and server that create virtual sensors, counting every vehicle in and out of an area without lanes or physical sensors. Self-training to 97% accuracy or better, with footage that verifies the count. Works alongside magnetometers and lidar, and suits high-value spaces like EV charging and ADA.

Stay online and counting.
Pre-purchase about 20% of your system's most critical components (control cards, modems, sensors, antennas) and keep them on hand. When a part fails, it's replaced locally and quickly, the count never stops, and your pricing is locked in. Small, medium and large packages for one-way or two-way sensors.

Frequently asked questions
How is OpenSpace different from other counting systems?
Most OpenSpace systems use sensors only at the entrances and exits instead of one per space, which lowers the cost considerably, and each system is tuned to your lot's layout.
Magnetometer, lidar or camera: which do we need?
Magnetometers suit lanes that every vehicle drives over; lidar mounts on a pole or wall and tells vehicles from pedestrians and tailgaters; AI cameras count open areas with no lanes and watch single high-value spaces. They can be mixed in one system.
How accurate is it?
At least 97%, and as high as 99.9% depending on the components you choose.
What does it cost to maintain?
Very little. Other parking systems cost from just over $1,000 to more than $14,000 a year to maintain; OpenSpace needs little upkeep, and Count Care keeps spare parts on hand.
Tell us how your lots and garages are laid out and where the entrances are. We'll recommend the counting method and show you the accuracy you can expect.
