Frequently Asked Questions
Which LED enhancement should I choose?
"Whether you should choose RRFBs, a BlinkerSign® or a BlinkerBeacon™ depends on the unique needs of your crosswalk. RRFBs are ideal for use at uncontrolled crossings, as specified by the MUTCD, and are proven to increase yield rates by up to 98% (FHWA). BlinkerSigns feature border-embedded, flashing LEDs that are visible up to a mile away. BlinkerBeacons are round, highly visible beacons that flash above signs and are simple to install."
How are system enhancements activated?
An APS push button is the default options for crosswalk systems. However, passive and thermal detection options are available to automatically activate system alerts when a vulnerable road users is detected in your custom activation zones. 24/7 and time clock activation options are also available.
Will the LEDs be too bright at night?
No — our RRFBs, BlinkerSigns and BlinkerBeacon automatically dim based on ambient light, ensuring they're highly visible during the day and reduce glare in the evening hours.
Can your systems communicate with nearby vehicles?
Yes. With our Connected Vehicle Interface (CVI), system activation alerts are automatically delivered to nearby, CVI-equipped vehicles via in-car alerts.
Can I remotely manage deployed systems?
Yes. With our connectivity platform, Smart Hub, it's possible to view system health and status, manage scheduling of system alerts, view activation trends, receive knockdown alerts and more.
